Jimmy Osmond will be heading the cast of this year's Royal and Derngate family pantomime, Cinderella!
Making his debut in Northampton, the former singer and I'm A Celebrity star will be playing the lovable Buttons from December 12.

A spokeswoman for the theatre said: "The fabulous rags-to-riches fairytale will be brought to life with stunning sets and fabulous costumes. More news of the superb cast will be announced soon."

As well as starring with family group The Osmonds, Mr Osmond became the youngest ever solo chart topper with his number one hit, Long-haired Lover From Liverpool, which he recorded at the age of nine in 1972.

His appearance on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2005 endeared him to a new generation, prior to the phenomenal success of The Osmonds reunion tour earlier this year.

For more information or to book tickets call the box office on 01604 624811 or visit the theatre's website at www.royalandderngate.co.uk.

The production runs from Friday, December 12 2008 to Sunday, January 11 2009 with tickets from £14 to £22.
