But the England flanker says he did not want the time off and admits it was tough to see another side lifting a trophy on Northampton turf.
“That’s the most disappointing thing: that there was a chance of a home final, which you rarely get,” said Clark.
“It was really disappointing to not be involved in that.
“When you see other teams play, you want to be involved and you want to play.

“Hopefully we’re ready for it.
“It’s all about being in all competitions
“When you get the chance, you’ve got to make the most of it and make sure you’re ready for the games that are coming.”
