Disabled Northampton ex-nurse 'overwhelmed' with free mobility scooter after partner's chance encounter with Superman
A chance encounter with 'Superman' in Northampton town centre resulted in a disabled former nurse being given a free mobility scooter - and psychic reading.
Last month, Duncan McCloud spotted Saleem Syed dressed as The Man of Steel offering scooters from The British Mobility Project and bought a ticket.

Duncan said: "I couldn’t believe it. We were both so overwhelmed."
Linda spent her career as an ENT nurse at a hospital but she started suffering from an auto-immune disease, which affects her muscles and movement and forced her to give up her job.
Saleem promotes The British Mobility Project, which gives free wheelchairs and scooters to registered disabled people, by dressing up as Superman and offering tickets in town centres across the country.

Saleem added: "We got chatting and it quickly became clear to me that this couple needed my help.
"I was able to source a mobility scooter within 24 hours of our meeting."
A note on the project's Facebook page from Linda thanked them for the kind gift and said she was 'blown away' by their generosity.

"It has given me some independence back, I still can't quite believe it at the moment and have to keep looking at it and thinking is it really mine or am I dreaming."
As an extra gift, Marcus, who has worked on Psychic Today for Sky TV and with the late Derek Acorah, attended the presentation in Bellinge and gave the pair a free reading.
Duncan said: “What he was saying really resonated with me. I've seen some terrible things, especially when I was in the Falklands and Ireland, and lost some close comrades.

For every reading Marcus gives via The British Mobility Project, a portion of the fee is given to the scheme.
"The project is so good. Helping people is what I do, and teaming up with the project enables us to help even more," he said.
