Click and collect closed at huge Northampton Tesco as travellers set up camp

A huge Northampton Tesco store was thrown into chaos today after a traveller camp was set up by the click and collect collection point.

Mereway Tesco had to close the collection point earlier today (July 31) after caravans were parked too close.

The closure caused chaos in store as customers were attempting to find out how they could collect their shopping.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We have temporarily relocated the Click and Collect collection point at our Northampton South Extra store to the Customer Service desk in the store.

"We have been contacting customers who have orders placed to make them aware of the change. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused”.

It is understood that the traveller's have been asked to leave and should vacate the private property as soon as possible.
