Police hunt burgler in orange top who fled Northampton break-in

Detectives are hunting a man in a distinctive orange top who fled following a bungled break-in at a Northampton home.
The would-be thief knocked at the front door of a property in Gloucester Avenue, Delapre, at around 12.45 on Sunday (May 9).

Hide AdBut he was fooled into thinking nobody was home when the resident failed to answer because she was not expecting visitors.
About ten minutes later a paving stone smashed through glass in a side door and a man was seen running away, stopping to pull on an orange jumper, before heading down Gloucester Avenue towards Towcester Road.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The suspect is described as white, aged 23-25, 6ft and skinny with short brown or greying hair. He was wearing an orange sweatshirt, white T-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms.
"Anyone who saw the incident or has information about it is asked to call 101 using incident number 21000254350."
