Northampton man, 26, facing drugs charge after van driver flees police

A Northampton man has been charged with a drugs offence after Police stopped a van in the county on Monday.
Officers from Northamptonshire's new crack Police Interceptor team seized seven large bags of drugs after spotting a vehicle linked to suspicious activity on the A43 at about 6pm on Monday (September 21).

Hide AdThey tailed the vehicle into Kettering where it stopped. The driver got out and fled but was was chased on foot through a number of surrounding streets before being caught.
A search of the van later uncovered seven large bags suspected to contain herbal cannabis in two boxes.
Inspector Darron Bishop said it was an "excellent result".
Xhafer Gjojdeshi, 26, of St James' Park Road, has been charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
