Burglar conned his way into Northampton flat after pretending to be a workman

Witnesses are being sought following a distraction burglary in Northampton.

The incident happened on Monday, November 27, between 9.45am and 11.40am, when the offender managed to gain entry to the victim’s house - Delapre Court, London Road - by pretending to be working in a nearby flat. While in the property, the offender managed to distract the victim and steal jewellery before making off.

The burglar is described as a white man of slim build, about 5ft 7in, in his 30s. He was clean shaven with short, fair hair and had a local accent.
