Bungling burglars caught on camera trashing Northampton venue... all for £6
Police are appealing for witnesses after the Boys Brigade Old Boys rugby club in St Andrews Road, Semilong, was raided at around 4am on Tuesday morning (July 26).
Two men smashed a window to get in the premises before breaking into a fruit machine, prizing open tills, taking charity tins and leaving a Guinness tap on so that it flooded the bar area.

One of the directors of the rugby club, Pam Finta, said: “They smashed the fruit machines and the lottery machine. They threw tills on the floor and they stole the charity boxes. But as everything was emptied we worked out they probably only took about £6.”
The damage however will cost a lot more to repair. The broken tills alone will cost £250 to replace, Ms Finta said.
“They also left a lot of blood around the place, and a barrel of Guinness was emptied out,” she added.

The charity boxes taken belonged to the Make a Wish Foundation for seriously ill children, Cottons Farmhouse day centre and the Poppy Appeal.
The CCTV clearly shows the two men running across the car park into the building.
One of the males appears to be bald headed and was wearing a jumper with light trousers. The other man has short dark hair and was wearing a dark T-shirt.

She said: “It’s right in the middle of Semilong, there are a lot of houses close by.”
