Students at the all-girls Northampton High School led the way in physics.
All of the girls sitting physics gained grade As in the subject and four students secured places at Oxford and Cambridge.

Kathryn Crowter is following in the footsteps of her sister who is currently reading physics at Oxford.

The A-level pass rate was 100 per cent, with 79 cent of all grades at A and B up three per cent on last year, achieving an all-time record.

Two of the most outstanding achievers were Ruth Geen and Snigdha Mettu.

Ruth was in the top five in the country in maths and Snigdha scored one of the top five marks in biology in the country.

Verity Smith was in the top 10 candidates in business studies.
